Warr Phalanx Series

Phalanx_14string

These 12 and 14-string guitars are designed specifically for the "uncrossed" tunings. The bass side is tuned the same as a standard 6-string bass, and the guitar side is tuned an octave above, making touch-style playing easier for musicians accustomed to standard bass and guitar tunings. String spacing is greater on the bass side so that typical right-hand bass plucking and slapping techniques may be used with greater ease. All options and woods available for the Artist models are also available for these guitars.

"This is the guitar I have waited for the whole time I have played Touch-style instruments! Awesome bottom end, sustain for days, great stereo separation, (even with distortion and compression on the guitar-side), and the best synth triggering I have ever played on any stringed instrument."

- Jim Wright

Warr Artist Series

Artist_series_9_3

Artist Series

The Artist Series is the original Warr Guitar model created by Warr Guitars, Inc. In 1991 I designed this instrument to be “hands down” the best two handed tapping instrument you can own; longer sustain, more tone, and a better feel; not to mention its stylish looks!

Warr Guitars Instrument Line

Innovative Style
Touch-style playing is an innovative art which reaches its full potential on the Warr Guitar Series. On one neck you can simultaneously play lead, bass, and rhythm parts. You can play in an upright or horizontal (guitar-style) position. You can use your favorite techniques such as tap, pick, strum, pluck, slap, or pop; and, you'll love the 24 fret, five-octave range. The possibilities are endless on the Artist, allowing you to create your own unique sound.

Unmatched Tone
The tone of the Warr Guitar Series rivals the best bass and guitar tones available in the world today. Why? Because world-class parts and carefully selected tone woods are used. All Artist Series Models have Sperzel locking tuners and a fully adjustable, intonatable WarrBridge™. This bridge, along with the dual compression-free, adjustable truss rods, can be manipulated without removing a string. The result is unlimited tuning and adjustment ability.

Custom Designed
All Warr Guitar Models use *Bartolini full-range, stereo pickups designed specifically for touch-style playing on the Warr Guitar. This **"dual" 18-volt active preamp system with two pickup selector switches allows you to shape your incredible sound. You'll get growling lows, exploding leads and singing melodies which will excite the ear of any audience. You can further sculpt your sound through string configuration, wood selection, and building construction. A wide range of exotic hardwoods are available. Furthermore, you may select between bolt-on construction for a fast attack with a sweet resonance, or neck-through construction for maximum sustain with a superb fundamental tone.

Unsurpassed Options
Piezo: Experience the piezo-acoustic sound from an electric guitar.
Synth Control: Standard 13-pin outputs from our incredibly sensitive piezo pickups will interface with all major guitar synthesizers and provide excellent triggering.

Trey Gunn Signature Series

Trey Gunn Signature Series

14 Degree Tilt-back Headstock:
This steeper angle increases sustain and tone. It is a superior design to the non-tilt-back style headstock. It takes more wood and labor to achieve the construction of this type of headstock. Furthermore, it is more difficult to locate the proper quarter-sawn laminates to achieve this design. Though this increases the cost of wood and labor, the resulting quality in tone is noticeable and worth it!

Graphite Neck Reinforcement:
Our findings show that an all graphite neck tends to be a bit sterile sounding, lacking the warmth of wood. However, using graphite as a structural reinforcement increases the rigidity of the neck, adding deeper tone while maintaining the warm characteristics of the wood. This design also increases sustain, making it the optimal choice!

Bridge placement on the node:
There is a place on the guitar body, that when tapped, you will hear a focused resonant note. This is where we place the bridge on the TGSS model. The advantage to this is, that it further reduces any dead notes, and helps to produce even volume levels from string to string. This results in a larger body design with increased mass. More mass, more tone.

The Drum Theory:
The body of the TGSS has been elongated with bridge placement nearer to the center. Imagine a drum. When the drum is struck on the edge, you get a thin drum tone. When it is struck in the center, you get a full drum tone. The same applies to instrument design.

Weighted Tuned Headstock "WTH":
We have added a proprietary technology to the construction of the TGSS model headstock. The design consists of a tuned placement of mass contained within the headstock. The result is a fuller, deeper bottom-end, heard on all notes. Furthermore, It helps in producing a more even volume level from string to string.

New Bartolini Preamp
designed for the TGSS Model. More dynamic range! More head room!

Piezo Transducers Pickups
Experience the acoustic sound that only a piezo pickup can give! With piezo’s on your Warr Guitar you can have that pristine acoustic tone, and still have your Bartolini’s. With a blend knob, you have the choice of piezo, Bartolini magnetics, or any combination in between.

MIDI
MIDI allows your Warr Guitar to digitally interface, or communicate with MIDI equipped devices such as computers, controllers and converters so that you can write, record and edit your music via your computer or create the sounds of virtually any other instrument or synthesized effect live or in the studio right from your instrument.

Our MIDI electronics are made by RMC and are installed within the control cavity of the instrument an triggered by piezo pickups imbedded under each saddle in your guitar or bass bridge. By using piezos as opposed to the old hex pickup mounted on the face of the instrument, the system tracks virtually instantaneously and is much more accurate.

This system is compatible with any 13 pin guitar-to-MIDI converter such as the Axon AX100, Roland VG8 or GR series or the Yamaha converters and can be blended with the existing piezo and magnetic signals from the instrument.

Midiclose_2
With your Warr Guitar, you can choose to MIDI all 12 strings and control your Roland, Axon, or Yamaha directly from your instrument!

Note: Two MIDI synth devices are required for more than 6-strings of piezo/MIDI
